Direct Sales – Worth Taking A Look!

Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress.
Working together is a success. – Henry Ford

For many people, getting the news that they’ve lost their job can be difficult. When the security of a job and related paycheck are suddenly gone, panic can set in. But it can also be viewed as an opportunity…you know the saying “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.” People have skills and talents that they don’t realize they have and can use them to venture out on their own to take control of their own destiny and become self sufficient through business ownership.

Why Direct Sales

Everybody has their “Why” in starting any business. To find the right business model, it’s important to consider your needs, goals, lifestyle and family to name a few. Direct sales has many benefits for those looking to invest into their future and build a home business. It can be rewarding, fun and lucrative. Another added benefit is that it can provide a social outlet of other independent business owners to share ideas and tips with. For this reason, it can be a springboard to success in less time and limiting the multiple barriers that other business models possess.

A key point of the product or service you offer is the perceived value to the buyer. The quality also is a defining characteristic. It falls usually in one of three categroies for the buyer:

  1. Something they want or need
  2. It solves a problem
  3. Entertainment or recreation purposes

It is not only important that you have a valuable and quality product or service, as a business owner you need to create demand.

Marketing is creating that demand. It can be summed up with:

  • Exposure – Of your information (content) about your business. Of building your identity or brand…both for the business and the product.
  • Acquisition – Driving traffic to your place of business…whether offline or online.
  • Engagement - Building trust with the customer (presell) and completing the transaction (monetize)

To continue this further, it is important to achieve four things (using the acronym AIDA) in your communication towards the prospects or customers:

  1. Get their Attention
  2. Keep their Interest
  3. Create a Desire
  4. Have them take Action
