Who Sold Us On This Plan?
“Most people who fail in their dreams fail not from lack of ability but from lack of commitment.” -
Zig Ziglar
Unfortunately, they don’t teach us lifestyle “planning” in school. We have been conformed by the industrial revolution…by society…by the education system…to get a
J.O.B. (Just Over Broke).
We are taught to get an education, then go out into the world and get a job. We do this without thinking about truly what we want to do in life. That is why 75% want their own business, but only 5% do.
Now before we get too far, I don’t want to come across that I am crusading against jobs and working for someone else. Jobs are necessary. For some it is okay and they are content…or willing to follow. But as I have stated, most are not happy with keeping the status quo anymore.
Jim Rohn said we have two choices:
1. We can make a living or
2. We can design a life
How do we get back on track?
Whether it is your life, health, career, life, financial, etc., your own personal philosophy is what determines your success. Philosophy is your mindset…your way of thinking. It is your own internal guidance system. It is a double edged sword…it will leads us down to a life of prosperity or a life of poverty.
To illustrate, you know the phrase…”An apple a day keeps the doctor away”. But many have changed it to “A big mac a day”. Well, we know what this philosophy will do to your waistline and health. This kind of thinking is like an infection. An infection that will lead to disease. It might not harm us immediately, but over time it destroys us. And this applies to all aspects of our life.
Philosophies To Consider
Profits are better than wages. The phrases to go along with this – Wages make you a living but profits make you a fortune. Making a living is fine, but making a forutne is super fine. See, I bet they didn’t teach you this in school. I know I didn’t learn it there.
The Magic of Part-time Most of you probably are in a position that you just can’t leave your current job or change careers. This is where part-time becomes valuable. There are opportunities where you can start part-time. So you can keep your day job making a living and work part-time making a fortune. That’s the magic of part-time.
The Set of the Sail. Jim Rohn put it something like this, “It’s not what happens that determines our life’s future, it’s what we do about what happens!” He said to imagine we are all in a sailboat. It is not the blowing of the wind that determines our destination, but the set of the sail! The same wind blows on us all…the winds of change, the winds of opportunity, the winds of difficulty, the winds of fortune and the winds of disaster. The same wind blows on us all! How we react to it is the factor that determines our destination.
For things to change, you have to change! I think we get conditioned to do certain things. One of those is to play the “Blame Game”. Saying it is the government’s fault, the economy, my job, my boss, the schools, etc. etc. Whether it is during adversity or prosperity, we need to get stronger, wiser and better. This is called Personal Development
The Intangible
Just like anything, some people will succeed and some will fail. Every reputable direct sale home business has four, common key factors:
Company leadership
Products
Marketing Plan
Compensation Plan
But the thing that separates the distributors…YOU!
What value do you bring to the consumer?
