So you want to start a home business…or maybe thinking about starting a home business.   I hope to provide guidance with information and resources for you to start a home business.  Of course this is not advice or recommendations.  That you will have to get from your lawyer, accountant or other professional that has detailed knowledge.

start a home businessBusiness, in its simpliest form, can be defined as bringing a product or service to the marketplace with the intent of selling it at a profit. This is true whether it is a traditional brick and mortar store or if you start a home business.

Start A Home Business – Considerations

When you start a home business, there are many considersations.  This includes, but is not limted to:

  • Legal structure
  • Registration
  • Business plan
  • Capital
  • Owners/Partners
  • Daily operations
  • Marketing and Sales
  • Distribution
  • Product/Services

Before considering these “tangile” factors, you first have to ask yourself a question…“Why?”  Why do you want to start a business.  This will provide the drive and motivation.   Perhaps you want control over your life, flexibility, extra income, remodel your house, etc. etc.  This is unique to each individual.

Along with your why, consider the things you like.  I like to use a phrase,

“Do What You Like, Like What You Do!”
